How it came together

The Pentstemon Solar Project, a subsidiary of Linea Energy LLC, was acquired from Samsung C&T America, Inc. in Q2 2024. The project lease boundary spans 1,936 acres, the project is located approximately 3.75 miles northeast of Stanley, New Mexico, off State Road 41. The site currently consists of open, rolling grazing land. The project is in the permitting phase, with approvals anticipated in Q22025. Construction is planned to begin in 2026, with commercial operations anticipated in 2028. The solar facility will feature crystalline-silicon solar modules, identical to those found on residential rooftops, mounted above the ground on steel racking. These modules will convert solar energy to electricity that will be delivered to the PNM transmission system for use in local and regional electric grids.

What sets it apart

The Pentstemon Solar Project will be one of the first renewable energy projects in Santa Fe County, contributing to New Mexico's Renewable Portfolio Standards. The company is collaborating with environmental consultants to explore implementing wildlife-friendly fencing, agrivoltaics, and a wildlife corridor.

What's the project impact?

Pentstemon will bring significant contributions to the local economy through property tax revenue (projections to be finalized). It will also help advance clean, renewable energy while enhancing the community’s environmental and economic sustainability goals. More than 40,000 homes are anticipated to be powered annually.

Community Commitments

Similar to Globemallow, the Pentstemon Project is unique for its approach to long-term sustainability by investing in local landowners throughout the project's duration via annual lease payments and easement agreements. This creates a stable revenue stream that shields against fluctuating commodity prices and helps preserve family properties for future generations. The project is engaging early with Santa Fe County's economic development team, holding ongoing neighborhood meetings, and maintaining a commitment to community input. We greatly value the feedback of our community members and invite you to share your thoughts. We are eager to learn what you would like to see from our project moving forward.

Pentstemon Pre-Application Neighborhood Meeting
